Ballywhiskin

A very warm welcome to our web page. That's me (Fred McCready) pictured on the left with good wife Marion. I'm the Chairperson of the club and Marion is the Treasurer. Our daughter Sharon is the secretary and the one who does all the work.

The Ballywhiskin Blues and Greys Country Music Club was formed in June 1999 at our Ballywhiskin Caravan Park Fun Day and our first club night was in the Buffs Club, Albertbridge Road, Belfast. Unfortunately we lost our premises in 2000 and relocated to Malone Rugby Club, Gibson Park Avenue, Cregagh Road, Belfast. We meet every 2nd Friday of the month and all are made very welcome.

One of our primary aims is to raise funds for charity. Before the club was formed, the four annual fun days from 1995 to 1998 raised £1,940 for the Northern Ireland Hospice.

In the last 2 years we have raised funds for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice. In July 1999 we raised £1,100 and in July 2000 the figure was £1,146. We would like to thank the members of all the country clubs and the caravaners of Ballywhiskin for their support.
